Kurt Shobe, from McPherson, Kansas, singer/songwriter, has performed across the Midwest, including Nashville, Tennessee and Branson, Missouri, and has shared the stage with stars such as racy Lawrence, Shenandoah, Ricochet, Ricky Skaggs, The Bellamy Brothers, Restless Heart, John Anderson, Sawyer Brown, Patty Loveless, Shotgun Red, The Girls Next Door, Tom T Hall, and numerous others.  He has been writing music for many years, and received airplay for his original songs, including Texas regional radio top 40 songs “Queen of Memphis”, and “Liquid Courage”. Kurt writes and sings lead and harmony vocals, along with lead and rhythm guitar for the songs on Steel Skarecrow’s albums. 

Kristopher Howell, from Eldorado, Kansas, Lead and harmony vocals/bass guitar, has been playing music for many years, working with names like Bryson Michaels and many others. When not working with Steel Skarecrow, Kris is in a barbershop quartet. His knowledge of music and his ability to sing lead vocals, and just about any harmony vocal line, makes him an indispensable member of the band, and his solid bass lines provide the foundation for the band’s music.

Rollin Schmidt, from Newton, Kansas, Steel guitar/fiddle/acoustic guitar, is the finest overall musician in the area. He has also been playing music for many years, and has worked in just about every genre of music from bluegrass to country, and even some rock’n’roll.

Mark Clemons, from Haysville, Kansas, Lead and harmony vocals/drums, is also a highly experience musician, and worked with Aaron Woods on his first album. He is also a songwriter, and his songs are featured on the third Steel Skarecrow album. His solid drumming and harmony vocals allow Steel Skarecrow to produce its signature sound with three part harmonies.
